Here's a quick look at the Points of Interest of the Stateline trip
- Las Vegas Strip: The tour starts with narration explaining briefly the history of the Hotel/Casinos that have become renowned worldwide. Over 500 million visitors have experienced Las Vegas since the 1960’s. Points of interest will include: Circus Circus, Riviera, Stardust, Desert Inn, Frontier, Treasure Island, Mirage, Venetian, Caesars Palace, Imperial Palace, Flamingo Hilton, Bally’s, Paris, Aladdin, Bellagio, Monte Carlo, New York New York, MGM Grand, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and Tropicana.
- University of Las Vegas (UNLV): Was officially established in 1957 with the construction of Maud Frazier Hall. Through hard work and determination, civic leaders and community members have helped form a center of academic excellence in southern Nevada for generations to experience.
Despite its short history, UNLV has seen dramatic growth in all areas. More than 140 graduate and undergraduate programs are now offered to more than 20,000 students on a 335 acre campus. All programs are fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges, and many programs have received further accreditation from independent national bodies.
Thomas and Mack Center (1983): This 18,500/seat multipurpose events center is the site for "Running Rebel" basketball games, semiprofessional ice-hockey events, headliner concerts, the National Finals Rodeo, and various ice performance shows. It houses the administrative offices of the department of intercollegiate athletics, the center’s operating staff , the athletic development office, and the Rebel Store. The T&M has established a sense of home to the Las Vegas community.
- Liberace Museum: "Mr. Showmanship" earned (2) Emmys, had (6) albums labeled as "gold", and was also awarded (2) stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During your stop at the Liberace Museum, you will learn to appreciate the legend as most locals have. Over 250,000 tourists visit this museum each year.
- Homes of Renowned people: You will see the current homes of Joanna Carson, Mike Tyson, Nancy Sinatra, Larry Holmes, Bubba Smith, and Wayne Newton. Also, you will see the former homes of Redd Foxx, John Denver, and Dorothy Dandridge
- Ethel M Chocolate Factory: Forrest Mars Sr. started making chocolates in 1911 and became the world's leading manufacturer of "snacks". His accomplishments include Mars Incorporated. After retirement in 1976 Mr. Mars went on to design a new line of gourmet chocolates that included various alcohol’s as a base. "Ethel M. Chocolates" was named after his mother, Ethel Mars. Daily tours of this factory, as well as the "Cactus Garden" are included in this (1) hour stop. Gourmet chocolates are also available for purchase during this visit.
